The latest new toy was the Canon EOS 30D to replace the 350d that died at Christmas. What a cracking piece of kit the 30D is. Loving every contour and the pictures aren't bad either. Will be posting the Best ones on the Diary pages so be sure to check back now and again
If you've not been here before please enjoy your stay, if you have, I'm surprised (but quietly pleased) that you re-visited my humble pages.
A Bad Day Fishing is far more satisfying than a good day's work
Sadly, the Spitfire is no longer mine, my Brother-in-law bought it and will be able to finish the restoration that I never really managed to start. Rather than attempt to do it by himself, he elected to chuck vast sums of cash at it, and pay someone else to do all the work. It's currently welded, and has a complete shiny new interior. Complete with MOT it's legal and in use, but still awaiting re-spray. If you arrived here hoping for a blow by blow restoration project I apologise but hope there's something else within the diaries somewhere to make you smile or pause for thought.

I do not intend to tip-toe through life only to arrive safely at death.
attempt to update something at least once a week (especially now I'm giving up smoking and have some photo's to play with).
Check back frequently for updates, even if it's only to have a look at the newsfeeds which are regularly updated...
Of course dead-baiting is the main method of pike fishing, but there are alternatives. Lure fishing is one, which involves attaching an imitation of a fish to a wire trace (so when the Pike attacks the lure the line is not cut).
One of the main aspects of lure fishing is the retrieve. It is important to vary your retrieve speed, sometimes stopping to let the lure sink down. Personally I think it
There are various pike fishing techniques that really depends on the type of water you are fishing. I really focus on lake fishing, and as the season for Pike Fishing draws closely I'm looking at the various techniques I use to my advantage in the coming months.
Firstly, I need to mention "Dead-Baiting" which involves simply attaching a dead fish to a metal wire. Usually the 'trace' is made up
Big Catch By Miniclip The internet’s selection of online fishing games is excellent! And particularly this game from Miniclip! There are two modes to this game ‘free play’ where you can play as long as you want, and ‘tournament’ where you progress through the lakes available getting money for your catch. With this money you can buy additional lures.
The graphics on this game are excellent with
In recent years there has been a growing advance in the fly fishing camp, to use their equipment to catch course fish. Of course, this has been happening unintentionally ever since fly fishing has existed, but it is only recently that fly fishermen have actually targeted coarse fish.
One side of this new method, is to use fry imitations to catch pike. Indeed there have been whole books
